I love coffee. There is nothing strange with that since millions of people share the same feeling with me. There is also nothing unusual with my habit of having two or more cups of coffee in a day for millions of people on this earth do the same. Sometimes I think that coffee is one of the most significant matters in one’s life. It is so important that some people just cannot stand to skip their ‘coffee moment’ whilst they can forget to have other primary needs. But why and how does coffee got its throne? Why and how does this black bitter liquid substance steal attention of millions of people in the world? Are there facts about it we should now? Well if you are not a coffee lover or just start to love it, these are some things you might need to know.
It is obvious that people will not consume coffee if there is nothing good with it. The first reason of it is its flavour and taste. You wake up in the morning, go to the kitchen, take a teaspoon of coffee, put it in a cup, add hot boiled water, stir it, smell the flavour, taste it on your lips, and you will know that your day will be just fine. Or if you are not in love with it deep enough and you think it is bitter, add some sugar, or milk, or cream, whipped cream, double whipped cream, mocha, chocolate, tea, or even whiskey if you are an Irish, and you will fall in love again. Then, what do you feel after your cup is empty? I bet you feel energized. That is the second reason, as coffee gives you caffeine which provides you a small amount of energy. So, whenever you are tired or sleepy but you need to have some works done, a cup of coffee is a good company.
Of course, people don’t only drink coffee when they are tired. One very good way to enjoy a cup of coffee is to have another person drink another cup of coffee beside you. Now, that is the third reason. Coffee is a social builder because it helps you get along with your friends and relatives, and most people are not restrained to have it. Some coffee lovers might find a new definition of best friend: someone to get along, have some coffee, and do nothing together.
Coffee is good, but this is not the conclusion yet. There are also some sides of this beverage that you might want to consider before you continue your relationship with it. First of all, if you have heart problems, high blood pressure or weak stomach, consuming coffee might not be the best idea. As mentioned before, there is caffeine inside coffee that will give a metabolism boost to the consumer. This caffeine is a double-edged sword. For you with those problems above, caffeine will not, -I repeat- will not brighten your day. This caffeine is also addictive, and that is why some people cannot go too far from coffee, they are addicted. So, if you do not want to depend on something, especially if you live in South Pole where coffee is extremely rare, forget it!
Coffee is good, and yes this is the conclusion. You might find me not being objective because I am a coffee lover, so in the name of the Coffee God I have to say that I don’t care. If you want to confront me, please also confront the other millions coffee lovers. I only need to add some little knowledge about coffee, besides being good, that some people might better put some facts about coffee into their consideration before deciding to have it as their deity. There are actually many more facts about coffee I cannot mention here, but if you want to know some more, I’ll be at the coffee shop.
